Procedure for registering a company in South Africa
You can register a company in the Republic of South Africa in 14 business days. To start the procedure, the founder must submit registration forms to the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
There are six stages for registering a Proprietary Limited company in SA:
Checking and confirming the company name
Preparation and completion of documentation
Payment of mandatory duties and fees
Company registration with CIPC
Notarization and apostille of company documents (if necessary)
Delivery of a package of documents to the client by courier
To register a company, the following data and documents are necessary:
Passport (scanned copy)
Proof of address (scan of a document confirming your place of residence, for example a residence registration stamp, a utility bill, or a copy of another similar document)
Founder’s documents
Registration certificate
Charter
Memorandum of association
Resolution of the founder to appoint the first director
Director's consent
Decision on the legal address for keeping documents
Consent to accept the registration agent and registered office
Authorization to issue shares
